Heatherdale Children’s Home, a Child and Youth Care Centre based in Athlone, Cape Town, prides itself on recognising and developing the potential of the children that seek refuge there. Sometimes though, it is important to recognise and develop the potential not just of children but of the physical environment in which the children find themselves.
The 2011 Heatherdale Children’s Home annual fete has come and gone. Once again, Heatherdale’s main fundraising event of the year was a roaring success, with around R84 000 raised to help fund the Home’s operations for the next year.

Steven is Director of Marsh Memorial Homes, a residential care facility based in Rondebosch, Cape Town, which, for more than 110 years, has been providing a safe haven for children at risk.
